UPSC Topper, Renu Raj was a bright student from childhood and if we talk about her Journey in UPSC where she used to read newspapers and journals to learn the basics during her internship of MBBS. After that, she slowly started studying the syllabus. She studied for 6-7 months during her practice where once she had the basic foundation for the exam and she decided to study full-time. She studied for 7-8 hours per day. After the main exams where she has started practicing again, so she had to reduce her study to 3-4 hours per day during her preparation of UPSC.
According to Renu Raj with the amount of study time is not important as long as the quality of study is done within a short period of time where she has the believes that all UPSC aspirants should learn to form their own opinions on everything and also learn the skill of expressing them in a polite manner.
UPSC Preparation Strategy of Renu Raj
Dr. Renu Raj has suggested a UPSC preparation plan where is to study for a minimum of 6 hours a day, beginning early in the UPSC preparation cycle and make it a priority to get at least 7 hours sleep and eat nutritious meals for good brain function. Try to get concentrate on individual study instead of group sessions where starting with prelims and then moving on to the mains syllabus.
Try to thoroughly cover every aspect of the syllabus while she has selected an optional subject such as Malayalam literature as the main subject. Read ‘The Hindu’ daily and other newspapers and magazines such as Yojana and Kurupkurkshetra regularly to stay up to date with current affairs.
